I mean I find most religions seem to be self absorbed and those that follow said religion are often judgemental and do not adhere to the principles that they say they follow. I have a faith and belief in God but also a scientific views of the world and I do not think we know everything. I cannot accept the bible word for word but it is more a guide for life and you take what you need. Is there a religion that will accept these views?

People have faith in all kinds of things every day. It's only God that so many feel they can't have faith in, though He's actually the most dependable One of all! Go figure!

God will never fault you for having scientific views! Remember, He's the One who created Science! Why not ask Him to reveal Himself to you--even if you feel you can't accept the Bible word for word. If you're sincere, He will show you the truth--and help you to understand the Bible better, too! God will accept you just the way you are--as long as you really want to know Him!

Yes, you can definitely have faith without being religious, or into an organized religion. You can be spiritual.

My spiritual path is Celtic Reconstructionism. I married a Christian man who does not attend church.

We were married in a Unitarian Universalist Congregation. They were open to helping us have a spiritual experience without being forceful of other beliefs on us, and I felt comfortable there. The service reminded me of a Quaker service (during which any member of the congregation may speak her or his thoughts) and many of the ideals reminded me of Henry David Thoreau. Also, UUs are typically open-minded individuals who support civil unions for homosexuals.

Many of the people I met in the congregation considered themselves Christians that did not take the Bible literally. They felt that God/Jesus/Higher power however you see it believes in a greater understanding.

nicely particular that's. human beings have located their faith in particularly plenty each thing conceivable in the time of the centuries. Dawkins believes in a FSM. ;) i do no longer think of all of us could disagree that technology does launch the mysteries of our universe and nature. there is relatively in basic terms debate whilst it is composed of evolution because of the fact the reason of foundation. there are assorted non-non secular physicists, mathematicians and biologists who've a complicated time accepting the thought because of the fact it lacks the empiricism their fields many times require. So definite you may opt to have faith or no longer have faith in something you like too, yet is that relatively the question you're asking?

Yes, God never commanded us to belong to a religion. I've been a Christian for 27 years and I find most religions too full of man and not full enough of faith.

That's my big problem with organized religion. It ends up being more about the church rules and regulations, than about God and being spiritual. Yes, I think you can definitely be faithful without being a member of a church.

maybe. some protestant religions are fairly liberal and in touch with the real world. but i would suggest that you go on worshipping without religion. since when did going to a building have anything to do with how good a person is. it is completely possible to be good and worship without buying into a certain religion.

I agree with you. I have not found a religion for me. All l know for sure is any religion that claims to be the only way to God is a lie.

Yes, you can have faith without being religious. Many people are. The closest thing I found to my beliefs was Unitarianism. They have no dogma. Good luck.

Religion is the method you choose to worship God. Even if it isn't an established method, you still have a way to worship Him and that is your religion.
