Purposes you ask? I'm glad you did. There are 5 purposes of life.
Here they are:

1. Worship God- it is not mere singing songs to God, but pleasing Him as well with every action you do. Do everything as if you were doing it for Jesus and that is true worship. You are pleasing God. Surrender yourself to Him. Submit to Him. Give Him your life. Worship despite of pain. That is the deepest level of worship. Do not be afraid to be tested to worship Him.

2. Fellowship with others- in order to grow, you need others. Live in loving relationships with them. Show compassion to them. Love them. The Bible says, "Love your neighbor as yourself." Become a part of a church where you can deepen your fellowship with Christ and others. Being alone is not being 'mature' in your faith. You need others.

3. Become like Christ- to become like Christ, you need to overcome temptation. Jesus fought temptation. Become like Christ. Make Him your role model. That way, you can worship God and fulfill your third purpose.

4. Serve God- serve God with the gifts He gave you. He never wastes them. He gave it to you for a certain ministry. A certain purpose. Use it to serve God and the church. God gave you more than you know. Explore them and discover them.

5. Broadcast- witness to others. Take them a step closer to Christ. Share the gospel to them. If you want your loved ones to spend life in heaven, do it! Share what Jesus has done for you. Grasp the opportunity to share. Don't let go. Share God's free gift that cost His only Son's life. Tell them that God loves them so much. Take their feet even an inch above hell- a place of sheer torture.

Read the Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. If you don't have a personal relationship with Christ, go to someone who can help or ask another question on how to become a believer.

The purpose of man's existence...

We are all individual beings have the choice to make decisions.

Some choose to abuse their opportunity by using drugs, alcohol, sex and anything else in excess that destroys the mind. Their purpose is to live and die. Where they go afterwards is your belief.

Others choose to work, sleep, eat, exercise, do a couple of good deeds now and here and find some spiritual enlightenment and then die.

Then there are those who through study and calming of one's mind find enlightenment. They no longer are born into a cycle of life and death. They ascend to a higher form of conciousness.

Not everyone man has the same purpose, but I believe to ascend to a higher form of conciousness is the best purpose to fulfill. What's your purpose in life?

Peace...

There is no grand purpose to man's existence.

The only purpose to your life is that which you give it yourself.

2 Nephi 2:25 "Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy."
Joy in the moment, joy in praising God, joy in serving and being served by our friends, neighbors, loved ones, children, etc. Joy in the hope of a resurrection through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Joy in our talents, joy in understanding the contrasts in life (including the lessons that pain will teach us, as well as the release from pain), joy in maturing and growing spiritually, joy in learning, joy in music and the beauty of life. Have a happy day.
