More and more people have an emptiness within them and instead of finding a healthy way to fill it, like yoga or exercise, they fill it with drugs and alcohol. More people need to look within themselves and find out why they are hurting and fill their souls with something good for them...
I speak from experience and still growing..

Let me answer this the best way that I can......... I agree that there is a problem but I don't believe that it is the people selling them or doing them. I believe that it is our government for making them so appealing to those that would defy the system.
I don't believe that marijuana is a drug as it grows out of the ground in the same way as all herbs do. The problem with marijuana is that our government scared everyone into believing that it was a gate-way drug so that they could make it illegal. Did you know, that marijuana is classified in the same catagory as heroine, cocaine, and LSD? Our country could greatly benefit from marijuana, which has a by-product called hemp. The main problem drugs out there are manufactured drugs; such as cocaine, heroine, oxyconton, morphine, and all narcotic prescription drugs. Most of these drugs were made from plants but that's the whole point of what I'm getting at. They were made by man. Not grown out of the earth. There are going to be those that are going to disagree with me, I'm sure. I think that our government wastes too much money on criminalizing marijuana that could be spent on worse drugs. Hell, make cigarettes illegal or how about alcohol, these things have worse side effects than marijuana.
Think about this, before you make your mind up on the subject. Do you think that children would be more apt to smoke marijuana if it wasn't illegal? Do you honestly believe that it is a gate-way drug?
You asked why people turn to drugs. I'll tell you why I smoke marijuana. It's safer than any other medication out there. I suffer from manic depression, obsessive compulsive disorder and social anxiety. None of the medication for these illnesses are free of dangerous side effects. The only side effects that I get from smoking weed is an appetite, deeper concentration, relaxation, cotton-mouth, and the occassional giggle. What is so wrong with that? I don't drive or opperate machinary while I'm stoned so the commercials about that are all propaganda. All of the other drugs are dangerous, but not this one.

The craze for quick fix solutions to every problem has led to this situation. Slow but sure cures are shunned for immediate but dangerous relief drugs, which hook the patient to addiction. A lack of purpose in life and unwillingness to sustain hard work to achieve desired goals is the starting point. Once these issues are solved, the drug menace will come down. There will always be a fringe group of people wanting to experiment with danger and death. Leave them to their lot, if counselling doesn't work. If you are sincerely concerned for a particular person you can take help from Health counsellors and psychologists on how to tackle the addiction and help the person to return to normalcy.

If we knew the reason why so many people have turned to drugs maybe we could save the world a lot of problems. Even though our schools have tried to teach our children to say no to drugs, it seems that it doesn't help a lot and it gets very discouraging to see so many turn into zombies.

We have to make drugs unprofitable. First by stop cuddling drug dealers and their tax paid for lawyers. Theer ehsould be a 2 strike law and your're dead if caught selling durgs.
We should also defoliate poppy and pot plants with chemicals which would distroy their usefulness. even to the point of causing the deaths of the users. People stupid enough to use illict drugs deserve nothing better. It's the only way and a hard choice for punishment on both the dealers, and buyers must be reached.
Once our government decided to spray poppy plants AND POT wiht a spray which would make the users sick. This idea was killed due to complaints from users, and dealers, and the liberal ACLU.

because the state of the world sucks, society sucks, people not taking responsibilities for their own actions and having to sue everybody, suck, the high taxes suck, the war in Iraq sucks.
Unemployment sucks, greedy people suck, corrupt Governments suck, and the supply of drugs into the states suck. Everybody wants to make a fast buck and maybe the young people have nothing to look forward too. Eliminate all the drug lords through clandestine operation, leave the sucking media in the dark, because they have to sensationalize everything and on every street corner there's a bleeding heart, crying blue murder because we stepped on someones toes. Get rid of the supply, stiffer sentences for dealers, 3 strikes and you're out, give the people proper jobs for proper pay. Don't pay millions to Athletes and movie stars, while our homeless drug addicted kids have nothing, Give birth control to the girls who can't keep their legs together and have illegitimate children and a burden to the tax payer. Sorry for ranting, did I actually answer your question?!

Yes, there sure have been improvements since America kicked G-d out of society! it used to be great before "seperation of church and state" was misused and G-d started to be kicked out of the American lifestyle.
Examples
Alcoholism up, drug addiction up, porno addiction WAY up, violence in schools way up, guns in schools "founded", homosexuality UP, economy DOWN, etc. etc.
Why is it people think one more step AWAY from Jesus could possibly be the answer? And then they say because of "logic".
Look how it was before all of this. These moral issues were hardly a problem. America was spreading the gospel and being blessed.
Where exactly does this "logic" come from? I
Blessings, may He help us all.

Some people just gave up on life. There's so many young gerneration that don't want to work, but they want to make these babies. So i say let's open more boy's and girl's club or some type of recreation center's for children and young adults. That way we could keep them off the streets and away from drugs!

I think a lot of people do it cause it feels good. Some is peer pressure and some its different situations in their life either environmental or biological. I'm all for people who need to use it for medical purposes. Sometimes its an easy way to make money.
