Could be your kitten is asking for fresh tap water - like one of my cats who'd station himslef beside the bathroom sink and meow until I get his water bowl and fill it with water from the tap (He does not like standing water too much). Cats love water from the tap bec it is well oxygenated. That's why those cat fountains are so popular - they encourage cats to drink more - very important for their kidney and urinary tract health.

he is actually quite smart--he figgered out where the water comes from. make sure his water is very fresh--he is probably speaking to the sink because it is part of his family as it gives water for him to drink! some kitties do not like standing wter--and seek some way to have fresh almost running water to drink. i am using a ferret water container--it drips frequently--kitty thinks his water is fresh!!

We have a cat that dose the same thing. Try runnig a bit of water. Ours dirnks right form the faucet. Trust me it's cute not but it wont be every time you go near that faucet and the cat is begging.

I think he wants you to turn the tap on "drip" so she can play with it. Or, he could be asking permission to get up there without getting in trouble. Try scooping him up, putting him by the sink and letting it drip or run with a tiny stream, see what he does.

If the sink starts talking back you'd better move!
P.S. Take the cat with you.

oh no he isn't slow, he's a cat. it means something to him, you just don't understand what he is trying to say. is his water clean? does he associate the sink with getting food. do a little investigating and see if you can decipher what he is saying. and if you can't, hey just enjoy his eccentricities

One of my cats won't drink from the water bowl. It insists that I turn on the faucet slowly and it drinks from the running water.

Yeah, the cat probably wants fresh water. We humans are the slower thinkers, not cats
