Round or Octagon Sais?

which one is better to use? I currently use an octagon one but I just started and I want to know which one its better.

How do you measure your size?

The round ones don't chip from contact in sparring and combat, but the octagonal ones have a better striking surface. It isn't really about which one is better, but more about whether you are looking for aesthetics or striking.

As for size...when holding the butt end of the weapon even with your outstretched fingertips, the pointed end should extend just past the elbow.
