God, the Christian one, asks us to sacrifice our most basic desires, sex and food (celibacy and fasting). That is difficult for anyone, especially one lacking the disapling that sometimes comes with aging....
But also, children today are taught to question authority....Where once everyone accepted what their parents or preacher said, today we can turn on the TV and see another truth....

because of so many options out there, and if serving God is not instilled early well.. there is a tendency that yes it would be hard to ask them to commit to anything, but in fairness to the young ones dear, so many young people are already serving in the field of service to God, there are so many Youth groups out there, and even more active than adult groups.

Because too many Christian elders make it really difficult--don't wear that! Don't listen to this! Don't kiss him! Don't laugh at that joke! Don't, don't, don't!
A Christian teacher once wrote how he didn't like people who acted like God was the enemy of sex and love and growing up and just having fun. I wished he or someone like him had been around when I was a young Christian.

Most people want to sow their wild oats but we never know when we will die!! Young people die too not just old people....i not sowing my wild oats at 21 and i should have never started it.... You can serve God at all age...just like Nike...Just Do It!!

because when they are young they want to enjoy their lives(dating,drinking....etc.),and forgetting God.....but when they get older,& start getting sick or unable to walk or.... ,at that time they start to realize that they have to go to the church ,and they have to pray......etc.
