What is humankind's greatest problem? How can that problem be resolved?

Forgetting that symbols are just tools for communication and analysis. They are not the same as the things that they represent. We make a grave error when we forget this fact and attempt to impart the qualities of represented thing onto the symbol itself. This issue is evident in religion, economics, education, science, and virtually every other human pursuit.

I'm not sure that this problem can be resolved by any simple means. It would require engendering a love of and capacity for free and independant thought in all or most people. It would also require convincing people that they are smart enough to understand and analyze the concepts and issues that are important to them. I really think that most people's greatest obstacle in becoming more intellectually independant is their own self-doubt. Basically, I think most people are smarter than they think they are. They just don't know it.

Humankind greatest problem is,to my opinion, a mixture of fear,greed and egoism.
It's very simple to be resolved yet it is not.
We are not attached to the laws we made,I mean money,power and all that.Is it not simple just not to produce useless weapons,things and just build up other things to help each other.drop the money and just give whatevr one's need,drop the weapons and build houses,print books,go for explorations of new worlds instead of fighting for lands which wont last forever,what will last really forever is humans,we have the power to find a way to live outside this planet,we showed that we can live underwater,in space,we can do much more..and faster but money..greed and egoism halt all that..we are still fighting lands,trying to show that one nation has more guns/weapons to destroy the other,..this is the major problem..we are all breathing the same air,walking on the same planets,have the same needs..yet...we dont see it..people..nations want to build there own dreamland..not caring what the others are doing and most of the time wanting others to be like them at any costs.we are still living like we were millions of years ago..no difference what so ever..our human mates from Africa are starving..their government dont want help as it will destabilize their government but they are buying weapons..instead of compassion..help..love coming through.weapons go evrywhere..weapons and power are the only thing that can be bought at any cost.Weapons are avaible to anyone..unlike food and water..how can nations poor and without infrastructures can have money to get weapons??
Frankly rich nations and people just want to make money and the greed makes them want to have more no matter what and that's egoism also in the same basket..

The greatest problem with us humans is our pride. Pride has always been the mother of all sin. Putting our own desires ahead of God's desires is sin and separates us from God. When the devil tempted Eve in the Garden of Eden he was appealing to her pride. He said "You will become just like God." We are continuing in our prideful ways today.
The pride problem can only be resolved by learning humility. Jesus was the best example. He even washed the feet of his disciples.

Lack of Contentment is what I believe is the humans greatest problem. If humans before have been contented with what they have. Local and Global problems and ill's today doesn't exist.
History tell us clearly that human greed and arrogance brings only suffering to us all.
Since we are in religion and spiritual section I could say that Biblical God have been warned us long before.

hmmmm, Sin started it, why, its because when we sin, we also make life difficult for others and and the poeple whom we have made difficult lives , would inturn make it harder for others, it becomes a vicious cycle all over the world. hmmmm... spread smiles, hug and love and the cycle and the world will turn out a much better place to live in:) be at peace God bless:)
