My grandpa found out I am dating a woman of filipino descent and went into a rage about Pearl Harbor (he is old and associates all Asians with those whom he fought is WWII). He is not the only one--many of my friends mock me and ask what her sideways ******** is like. In reality, it is superb. She is a lovely woman who serves me well and I wouldn't dream of leaving her simply because her skin color makes her a lesser person. How should I confront my friends and family?

First off there is no such thing as interracial After all we are the human race not humans and mutants or etc. Second it is no ones business what her (blank) is like so keep the over shares to yourself.
Third you should look at what YOU wrote about her, to quote "She is a lovely women" that's great. AND this is where your colors show up "who serves me well" That is sexiest. Also" ...leaving her simply because her skin color makes her a lesser person"??? Who told you she was a lesser person?!

Look you may have not intended to write this in such a way as to be racial but it is an sexiest to boot. As for your friends and family prove them wrong by getting married and really loving her till the day you die. That way you won't be focused on them but on the one you say you "love?"

First of all, her skin color does not make her a lesser person. I don't believe you meant that, just proof read next time.
Honesty is the only way. Have you introduced everyone to her, maybe they haven't had enough time to get to know her for who she is. It will be awkward at first, but well worth it if they learn who she really is. If the disrespect continues when they are around her don't subject her. People have preconceived thoughts of people due to their pasts and situations. If you have the desire to stay with her, you need to have the desire to teach your Grandfather a new way of thinking.
Good luck

Interracial relationships are no different that two people being from different religions. Love and respect is all that matters, you shouldn't even noticed her skin color, it's on the surface. What's in her heart and soul is the beautiful part, when you look into her eyes and how your hearts pounds whens walks toward.
If you love her for who she is and she makes you happy, what's the problem? Go for it and have a wonderful life> Good Luck.

Her skin color makes her a lesser person to you? Not cool.

I think you are confronting your family and friends already by remaining with your love, if you love her, that is. I have to wonder coz you're asking what to do about this when really, it's a nonissue.

You love her. Who cares what race she is. You honestly shouldn't worry about what other people think unless you feel insecure about the relationship. Tell anyone who makes a comment that you have true feelings for her and that skin is just skin and that it does not effect her. Also, it has no effect or stigma on your friends or family. The only ones your relationship should effect is you and her. I hope they realize that.

"her skin colour makes her a lesser person????"- that a DISGUSTING thing to say. All humans are EQUAL- what decade are you living in???? With that kind of attitude i actually can't believe you are in a interracial relationship.
And for the record it is absolutely no one else's business whom you are in a relationship with- and if you are a real man- you'll ignore your grandfather and shoot down any comments made by your friends.

I wouldn't care what color or race my kids would marry. All I care about is that they're good to them. They could be green with purple polka dots for all I care. No one can be held responsible for what their ancestors did in another day and time.

Well, your grandpa, he may be a bit more stubborn, so it may not be as easy to confront him, I think.

Anyway, who cares about your friends? If they don't have a girlfriend, they're probably just jealous. If they do, then they're immature.

Race or Gender should not matter, period... we are all humans and it's all LOVE. Who's to say whom we can love? We don't choose who we're attracted to, so why should race make any difference?
