You don't. It is illegle to capture any wild native bird in the United States. Keep your hands and anything else you might dream up off.

Don't capture wild birds. It is illegal to do and is just plain mean to take any wild animal out of it's natural environment.

My mom always told me that if you put salt on a bird's tail, then you can capture it.
But I could never get close enough to put salt on a wild bird's tail.
