My son's name is Victor Li Sheng Li. Sheng Li is the Mandarin translation of "Victor", I called him that because he looked so small when he was born and I was wondering whether he was ever going to make it in life. But then I read an article about how any baby born to this world is already a champion or a victor because he or she has to compete with a couple of millions of other racers and the born baby was the winner. So I was inspired to call him Victor to remind him all the time not to give up however hard life seems to be. He was not born a loser but a winnerr. I think that really helped him so far. He has been treated unfairly many times in Singpore, Jakarta and now in Sydney, but, thank God, he still survives and in great spirit.
My second child is called Meike, which in Dutch means, "Little May". Her Mandarin name is Mei Yin, or "Beautiful Cloud". Cloud and Flower (Hua), are two of the most popular Chinese names for girls. We call her that because first, she was born in the month of May, obviously, and also because she was very pretty and sweet. Until now she is very softspoken and diplomatic. She has dozens of suitors when she was a teenager but we always adviced her not to jump too quickly on the first proposal. Just be friends and do not rush blindly, though people always say that "Love is blind." Wait for the right Prince Charming. I think that is the reason why so many marriages end in shipwrecks. Most young people rush blindly and grabbed the first one who came along, and then after that they opened both eyes and found all the disappointing traits of character in their partnerrs. Wheras they should open both eyes, choose carefully and then after the vow is made, they should close one eye to any shorcomings they see now, after it is too late. After all none of us is perfect, so how can we expect our partner to be perfect.
She listened to our advice, and got married when she was 27 years old. And now she is very happily married with 3 children, and a good bread winner for a husband who can give her whatever she asked, almost.

Ariana Rebecca
Ariana because we saw Arianna Hoffington on TV and she was pretty, smart, and had a beautiful accent. It was also just a gorgeous name and somehow it just was right.
Rebecca because my great grandmothers name was Rebecca and she passed away shortly before my daughter was born. She was an amazing woman and did amazing things all through out her life. If Ariana is anything like her then she'll probably have a good chance at first female president or finding the cure for cancer or something like that. : )

My son is Colton Lee, I just liked the name Colton and couldn't think of a middle name to go with it except Lee. My daughters name is Emily Nicole, I really liked the name Caitlin but everyone was naming their kids that so I went with a more traditional name, turns out everyone was thinking the same way. They are 7 & 5 respectively.

Our daughter is Reagan Ashley- Reagan for the president (my hubby was in the USMC at the time) and Ashley so that she would have a nice, strong, feminine name to fall back on
Our son is Noah Bruce. Noah from the bible and Bruce is his paternal grandfather's middle name also.
We tried to give our children strong names, the names of great leaders!

Megan, strong to go with last name that begins with an M.
Peter, known as Pete or Petey, because every Pete I ever knew was just a real good guy; he is living up to that name.
Charlie, again because every Charlie I knew was a good guy, the type that would help you out in any situation, the guy you want to go have a beer with, a guy who is a little goofy and funny; although he is only 3, he is living up o his name.

I have 3 sons. My oldest is Cody Jay. We picked Cody because we liked it and no one else in his family is named this (he has a large family). We put Jay with it because it comes from my husbands side of the family. My husband, father in law and husbands grandfather all have Jay in their name.
My middle child is named Caleb William. Caleb because once again no one in either family was named this and William because it comes from my side of the family. My dad, brother, and both of my grandfathers have this name.
My youngest is Cole Hunter. Finally, after getting family "obligations" out of the way we were able to pick a name that was different. We picked Cole because it began with a "C". There is a pattern here. And because we liked the name. We picked Hunter because we really couldn't decide what to name him. We wanted Michael but this is his brothers name and they would want to use it for their son. My husband wanted Milton. That was a definite NO NO. We had Hunter in the line up anyway so we decided to go neutral and pick it. I always liked the name. I wanted my husband to believe he picked the name. It worked. Anyway, that's the story.

I have two twins, Hollie and Grace.
I personally love the names. I gave Hollie that name because my fiance's grandmother's name was Holly, and she passed on. I also adore that name.
I picked Grace because it means grace, and I when I was pregnant, I had dreams about a girl named Grace. I never met her or knew her, yet I felt convinced that that was what I should name one of my daughters. My fiance and I also loved the name.
