I am quite sick of the typical sofa which takes up a lot of my living room space. But I want to create a place where one can rest and still looks good for guests who come to my house.

I had a professional decorator tell me that love seats are esthetically more appealing, easier to arrange in smaller spaces and an overall better choice of furniture over sofas. She said people often think they need the extra seating space, but typically, your guests don't want to sit in the middle anyway. The third seat area is lost space.
