~Only after the hemlock cocktail. And of course, the second coming would have to come long before the first, as Socrates was dead long before the Holy Ghost descended upon the Jewish Virgin. However, assuming they were together in the same debate hall, Socrates could argue with reason and logic, whereas his opponent would have to rely on superstitious babble. And, during his lifetime, a majority of the Greeks listened to, believed and revered Socrates. That's a claim JC couldn't make.

Since Jesus would already know what's in Socrates mind and heart I seriously doubt there would ever be one.Socrates may have loved a good argument but Jesus would most likely have said nothing or walked away.If you had agreed with Socrates he would then argue why you shouldn't have. But, Jesus need only have raised his hand and Socrates would become dumb, mute or fall asleep.

You're asking if a member of the Godhead could win an argument with one of His creations? That's a strange question. Being God, Jesus has all knowledge -- past, present, and future. He'd know what Socrates would thinking before Socrates was ever even born. Being human, Socrates is limited to what he can observe.
If you're in doubt about Jesus' powers to make points with intelligent people, go read in the gospels about His arguments with the intelligentsia of the day. They kept trying to trap Him and He kept trapping them in their own traps! ...and they kept trying it....

no, i say this as a catholic. SOcrates would win because Jesus has no factual evidence upon anything. Jesus had no schooling, while socrates was a well respected scholar. To some people all jesus has to say is jump and people say "how high" They dont ask why, jesus just says i think its best.

Something tells me Socrates might have stopped 'arguing' in the presence of Jesus.
But that just goes to show that I believe Socrates was a very wise man..

Yes, because Socrates only had partial truth. Jesus is the Truth.
Yet, I do believe that Socrates had many glimmers of Christian philosophy.

Colossians 2:8
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

I don't know but he was probably influenced by him indirectly through the mystery schools which were prevelant in that era and which were very neoplatonic in nature.
