I get bad headaches when I drink. What causes that? I don't drink a lot, but like to have a drink every now and then.

Do you take any prescription meds? If so, be sure to read the labels and fine print, cause many of these can conflict with alcohol and cause weird side-effects.

Sounds like you have a low tolerance for alcohol (and possibly other things). I am thinking that it dehydrates you quickly thereby causing the headache. Try drinking water before you partake and see if that helps. In fact try it now, maybe I will too ;-)

You could be alergic to alcohol. I am. From the first time I tried it as a teenager. Just a few sips & my head was dizzy & my stomach upset. My father was as well. For some people the alcohol hits the blood stream to fast. Almost immediately. I never drank because of it.

You could be a member of an ethnic group that is not able to handle alcohol. Or, alcohol is a venous dilator. The brain veins (poetry) will dilate and cause pressure. Or you could be allergic to the nitrites/nitrates in wine. Try some organic wine and see if it still happens.

You could be having an allergic reaction that is causing migraines. My roommate has the same problem with alcohol and some other foods that triggers migraines.

You apparently have a low tolerance for alcohol barring any other reason such as medications etc. You may outgrow this over time but it may be a painful process.

I had that problem, too, so I quit all alcohol. Turns out I was "sugar sensitive" (alcohol is a sugar). Find out if you, too, are "sugar sensitive" by visiting http://www.radiantrecovery.com

I just love the results of doing the Radiant Recovery program!

I think you are allergic to alcohol. If you are healthy and are not under any medication, then you should be able to tolerate small amounts. Go get tested and be honest with your Doctor.

I only get this condition when I'm in my migraine cluster period! Haven't had a migraine in several years now that I'm on blood pressure meds. Maybe you should get yours checked! ;-)=
