Religion would concern your belief. Who do you believe as the most Supreme Being? Who is God? What are His laws?
You just have to consciously choose it to have it.
Spirituality would be the depth of your faith. It concerns your understanding of your religion's teachings and how you would apply them in your life. How did you get into your life now? Are you constantly basing your decisions on your God? Do you have faith?
You have to work on it and act on it in order to have it.

Well, it can be a huge difference! If a person is religious than it means they follw a certain set of beliefs, concepts, and dogma that are put forth by their particular religion. It's kind of like joining a club! But to me, being spiritual means being happy and content with your place in the universe, and knowing that you are a part of a bigger, grander, more beautfiful scheme of things than just this physical life. A religious person CAN be spiritual, but alot of times they are not. Many religious people--like some on this site--are angry and hypocritical and narrow minded, and truly do NOT like their fellow man.

"religion is for people who are afraid of going to hell, spirituality is for people who have been through it." That's what they say. I think that religion is about what you believe and spirituality is about what you experience. Many religious people have very little spiritual experience and many spiritual people don't care much for religion. Personally, I aspire to spirituality and think religion sometimes actually PREVENTS the experience of spirituality as in the case of the dreaded and much reviled FUNDAMENTALISTS.

It would depend on who you ask. Some people would say that someone that is religious would follow a specific religion. Spiritual would be more like an indigenous belief.

To me, religion is man's own creation to make himself feel secure and righteous and attributing that creation to God. Spirituality can be many things to many people. To me it is the connection to the higher force, or intelligent energy that brought everything together and put it all in place. It is seeking to become one with that energy and learning to rise above the lower elements of man's nature.

Religion is a belief that relates specifically to one or more gods. Spirituality doesn't have to involve a god.
