if you bought something and have the receipt, you can take it back. some grocery stores sell out-of-date stuff (as long as it is safe) at a reduced price. there are some things that should never be sold and if you find that i would report it to the manager, if he does nothing and it is a chain, report it to the district office.

Not a whole lot, it would be hard to prove without a receipt as when you bought it, if you have one ,you should have taken the container back to the store for a refund, its really up to you to check dates on stuff, sometimes things get overlooked by mistake not on purpose, if they do it alot, go to the manager and let them know, they hire people to pull and look for out-dated stuff. You can consider contacting the local health dept. They can check the store out and if they find that it is a common practice they can fine the store.

probably nothingif the date was albled and you bought it. it's up to you to read the date.
