It's longer than the recommended time for a turkey but it will be fine. I've done it with both whole turkeys and turkey breasts as long as they've been kept at zero or below. I couldn't tell the difference. Not to worry! :o)

I think people today are obsessed with expiration dates, etc. On many products an expiration date is used because it's required. Think about it... sour cream is already sour! It keeps far longer than the expiration date. Yogurt also keeps far beyond the expiration date. The only place you need to be careful is where bacteria may grow or flavors deteriorate.

I think the first thing you have to do is thaw that bird out. Normal safe freezer storage time is 4 months without loose of quality, you're just a bit past that. If it smells ok when you get her thawed then give it a go in the oven but I wouldn't feed it to anyone but close family members, are the In-Laws coming over?
My opinion? If I have to "smell" something to figure out if it's good or not? It's your turn to take out the trash

If it has remained frozen it should be OK..Turkeys are wrapped in an airtight seal so that helps..... A newer turkey may taste a bit better..

It will not make you sick-how could germs grow in frozen meat? The taste and texture may not be the best.
