there is a guy i like and his gf just broke up with him! he is my best friend so i hang around him a lot and talk 2 him a lot! he knows i like and i asked him out but he sayed theres a time after u break up tht u 2 mourn. over his old gf! how long should this take? and wht should i do? where the same age and its not like we dont talk a lot so... wht should i do??

My opinion is stay friends. Be his best friend. Don't let yourself rush in to fill her footsteps and possibly get in a rebound relationship with him.
Let him know that you care about him, and that your their for him. then crack a joke and say something like.... So how long are you supposed to mourne for? When he tells you, say; "So I have to wait that long till you realize that we should should be together? Ok I'll wait.."! That could break the ice and let him know that you you do like him more than just friends, And see where it goes.
I usually don't answer anything other than automotive questions in here. But I've been in the same shoes as you, only about a girl. But I know what I'm talking about.
I've kicked myself when I found out that the 2 girls I had crushes on in highschool, That I just stayed friends with really would have loved for me to ask them out, But I didn't want to spoil our friendship with them and I figured they weren't attracted to me.
15 years later I found out I was wrong.
So ask the question the way I said,see his response, Then just play off what his reaction is..... If it turns out he likes you more than friends,cool you may have a future foot in the door. If he reacts offended or acts like you wouldn't be in his near future.... Then play it off as a joke and say... What? You thought I was serious? Why would I want to jeapordise our frienship.
With the option I gave you , it leaves you in control of the situation to protect yourself,and be forward at the same time.

I think you should relax. If you already told him how you feel and he told you that he needed time to get over his ex, you should respect that. Besides you don't want a reboud relationship-they never work.
You should let him make the next move. He knows how you feel and when he is ready and if he is interested, he will ask you out. Don't pressure him or come on too strong. If you do it will likely push him away and you could even lose him as a friend.
Think back to a time when perhaps someone liked you and you didn't like them back. And they kept pressing and pressing the issue. It made you feel uncomfortable didn't it? You don't want him to feel the same way.
Here is a little advice from someone who has been around for a while and has played the guy game for many years (Now happily married): guys prefer girls who play hard to get-and I don't mean sex, I mean dating in general. They enjoy a challenge. If you give yourself up to easily-they become bored and uninterested. If you really like him and you want him to really like you-make him work for it. For example, don't call him anymore-make him call you. Don't let him end the phone conversation first-you end it. Sometimes when he calls, pretend you are busy. Be unavailable. It will be worth it, trust me.

wait about 1 week then go to him say hi the go again in about 30 min and say hi and do that then in about 2 days ask him to be your friend then in 1 week ask him out

Look I would say to ask him out and kiss the person if it's a boy you want to go out with then fine.I just hope his not Gay either if that's what you're saying

If he's your best buddy, I would back off as it could ruin your friendship, as you should keep it as is. Otherwise tell him how you feel, perhaps he just might open up a bit. ;)
