I understand that a virus never leaves the body. Are there any that have been cured/removed? Vaccines prevent infection... but don't remove it. I'm curious if there are any virus' which have been cured/removed.

No, there are no cures for viruses. You can treat the symptoms, but the virus will still be there. At this point, the best that you can do is get vaccinated, or catch the disease and develop immunity.

Your immune system very effectively keeps the imprint of the virus that it can use to identify the virus in the future. The immune system most certainly cures you. The only part of the virus that remains is enough for it to be identified in the future and therefore render you immune from future infections of the same virus.
