You can snore for several reasons: overweight, sleep apnea, not able to breathe through your nose, uvula relaxing too much in the back of your throat, etc. It really depends on the reason as to how to stop it. Sleeping on side helps but it is gets too bad, you may need a CPAP breathing machine to push oxygen into you while sleeping. There is also surgery for the uvula area. Breathing strips may open up the nose. I have also read of a electonic watch you can wear and when snoring hits a certain decible, it will shock you.

There is a flap of tissue in the throat that will vibrate when you breathe if it becomes enlarged. Overweight people in particular can have this problem. They make sprays and crap for it but none of them really work. Most people snore more when they sleep on their back. Try taping a tennis ball to your back (no really!) When you roll over on your back, it will be uncomfortable and you'll roll back over.

For some it can be a serious health problem. I just roll my husband onto his side and he stops. If you have an on going problem it would be best to see a doctor.
