Enlightenment is removal of ignorance; where as wisdom is the result of a proactive effort to acquire empirical knowledge which is called 'Pragnya' in Sanskrit or 'Gnosis' in Greek.

Enlightenment, knowledge, understanding is find to have...but wisdom comes in play...how to use such things as above in your life.
For-instance, you have knowledge that a train is approaching you on a track. You understand if you don't move off the track you will be killed. Wisdom is the application of these things so you jump away safe.
You can have all the knowledge, understanding of the Bible...but if you don't have Gods wisdom so you can apply these things in your life you are lost.

Enlightenment is an experience beyond the normal experience; you don't acquire it, whereas wisdom is something you gain from learning from books, from life experiences and from others.
Only when you reach enlightment stage that you realise you are there. When you say you are 'enlightened', it basically means "eureka". Philosophically, it means something else. You may not even get it in this lifetime. I know, this sounds profound.

I believe enlightenment is inspirational knowledge from a divine source, and wisdom would be the smarts to know how to practically apply that knowledge in your life.

wisdom comes from learning from life experiences. enlightenment usually means some sort of supernatural message or "feeling". i would say that most of the time wisdom is more important than enlightenment.

enlightenment is like having the light bulb turn on inside of your head and you 'get it'.
wisdom is the actual knowledge of knowing something - usually from experience.

Just an opinion from a certain frame of reference. Enlightment is something spiritual that i have experienced within the heart, such as unconditional love, humility & unity with God, wisdom is what i used to attain these experiences and what i use to try to discribe the indiscribible.
