Depends where overseas. In a warzone yes. In Germany or Italy. No. I don't know about Korea, I had a bunch of buddies that were stationed there they just didn't like it.

It really depends on where you live. I have been in Germany, Panama, and Korea. Germany wasn't bad at all. Most of the Germans were tolerant of the American presence and you can have a great time if you are openminded and don't try to make a little America of where you are. Korea is culture shock to the max, but getting to know the Koreans and their culture means getting out of yourself and being into another culture. Surviving in another culture means understanding and tolerating the differences between the other country's culture and American culture. Remember, not everyone likes Americans so try to keep that in mind when visiting another country.

Of course being in the military makes you stand out, so be aware of your surroundings and try to blend in as much as possible. Being stationed overseas is no more dangerous than living in America. In some cases it is much safer. Europe is considerably safer than America, but there are glaring differences as well. There are more taxes, rules and regulations depending upon the country.

If you take the time to get to understand the host country, and remain openminded, your stay overseas can be a memorable one. I hope this answers your question.

it depends where. if it's in Europe, it depends on the base. it's always best to go off base with more than just yourself, preferrably more than 2 people going together. the upside to living overseas is that you get to learn another country's culture and so on. the downside, for me, is that it's hard to cope being away from my family. it all depends on you really.

It depends on the branch of service you go into and where you get stationed. Combat zones have the most risk.

Depends on where you go & what you do-we're stationed in Japan right now, & that's obviously not so dangerous-I think it's more about what branch you're in personally & what your rate is.
