I have two lab husky pups (yr old) who ran away today I'm sure they are together. There will be a low of 15 F tonight and I am wondering if they will be ok.

the minimum temp. without shelter is alot less than a min. temp. with shelter....i am sure they will find shelter..dogs are pretty smart that way...the ole survival instinct takes over...ya might be able to help the situation by putting out their favorite blanket or something that has their smell on it ...might help em catch the scent of their house...
good luck

Yes, they will be ok as far as temps go. Both Labs and Huskies are very tolerant of cold weather.

But as far as cars, other bigger dogs, humans with bad intents go, they could be in real danger. If you are in farm country, farmers with guns are also a danger, along with some larger wildlife.

I have to wonder why you aren't out looking for the dogs instead of posting here? Have you contacted your local animal shelter(s) as well as the police/sheriff departments? You need to do this asap.

Huskies are notorious for running off, for being able to go through/over/under fences. You need to look into just how the dogs got away and refine the confinement area/yard you keep them in.

I hope you find them soon, unharmed.

There was a low of 4 F last night here and my dogs were just fine outside. Dogs are not stupid, they will find a comfy place to den up just like their ancestors have done for the last 100,000 years.

It depends on how strong, big, and how much fur they have. If it's a big dog, it would be able to stand it more. More fur etc. will help them keep warm.

Since they are pups, I'm not very sure, but it's best if you keep on looking for them. Best of luck!

i live on a small farm and have three german shepards that live outside and it has been my experience that they will be fine to around 20 F, and colder. however since your breed of dog is part husky they should be fine due to the fact that huskies are a cold climate breed.

I live in Canada, Northern Ontarion and it gets very cold here. My german Sheppard stays out even when is it -40. She loves it and sometimes we have a hard time getting her to come in at all. She loves the winter.

Well aren't they originally from Alaska? I'll bet they have a VERY high tolerance to the cold!
