Yes!!! There is a lot to check out down there! ;) Just gently disuade him from doing it without making a big deal out of it. You don't want him to feel badly about something he's naturally curious about... It'll stop eventually, I promise. There is nothing abnormal about it, my son did it, and I swear his dad still does it....

I have a 27 month old boy and he is very interested in all of his bodily functions at the moment. He never stuck his hand down his diaper, but he is curious during diaper changes. I've stuck to the philosophy that smacking his hand away (or a like action) would most likely cause problems in the future. I obviously don't encourage it, but I attempt to ignore it or ask if he needs to go potty, etc. Just think about finding a new scab when you were a kid . . . fascinating to play with right? Probably the same idea. But it will pass; my son's fascination has greatly decreased as he's gotten older. Good Luck!

I haven't had my 21 month old son put his hand down his diaper, but he does explore during diaper changes & when he stands up to the potty to pee, and of course in the bath.
If I'm not mistaken, I have heard about the lil tikes doing a lot of exploring, just like with everything else, but we are not used to (some of us are not) seeing a child do this. It's their own way of knowing & getting familiar with his body, like with his hands, feets & so forth.

It's totally normal. Don't worry. My little boy has been doing it for as long as I can remember (he's about 3 1/2). He even pulls at himself. I think it's just something they do.

Yes its quite normal my sister told me that her little boy would do this all the time at that age and she had to be careful when she was out because he would somehow pull it out of his nappy when she was out. I'm not looking forward to this stage at all my boy is only 9 weeks old.

i am pregnant with a boy now and have been asking a lot of questions about that (because I have heard that it happens. ) According to multiple friends with male toddlers and alot of reading i have found that it is completely normal. Apparently it isn't sexual for them, they are just fascinated with their parts. (It does feel good to them though- but they don't relate the feeling to anything sexual) You are not supposed to scold them for this fasciantion based on what i have read

Don't be wierded out by your sons exploration of his body, if you are, your going to give him a complex or two...or two hundred.
Relax, your son is normal as can be!
