No, I won't pay it - I'm digging my heels in on this one. It's not the fact that I don't want to part with $35, it's the principal of the matter...which is too long and boring a story to explain. Can i offer to go to jail in lieu of paying the money?

Hey, I just paid a $35 fine yesterday......but that one was my own stupid fault.

My fiance got a fine she didnt deserve (ticket was displayed), and she appealed & won. If its not fair, you should appeal.

Well, you posted your query in the USA Answers site. Here in Washington State the community that issued you the parking fine will notify a collection agency and the Department of Licensing and you will not be able to renew your driver's license or renew your registration for your car until you pay up!

Weeelllll, they are bastards. If you don't pay I believe they add extra penalty fees, and more fees, and more fees, and then they take you to court, and you have to pay the fees for that! I would either pay it now so you don't get extra fees on top of what you already have, or if you have a decent reason for not wanting to pay you could appeal it, but it's probably more trouble than it's worth. Bloody revenue raising, that's what it is!
