I learned that you can not make a collect call to a cell phone. There is a person trying to contact me from jail and he told me there is a way to do it. He just doesn't know how and neither do I.

Depending on what cellular provider you use, they should have an account feature you can add that will allow the calls to come through. This is on a pre-paid basis most of the time. Otherwise, your friend will have to get a hook-up on a 3-way!!!

See if they can get a calling card in jail. The rates are signifincantly cheaper than calling collect. I think some cell phones companies will allow collect calls, but keep in mind they charge like $1.00 a minute in addition to using your plans minutes.

You can if you use a credit card or calling card so you have to write him a letter and give him your information if you trust him with it then he can call the operator and give the credit or calling card info and val-la you're talkin'. Or you can buy him a prepaid credit or phone card and that way you don't have to worry about the trust issue either way it's costing you because your minutes will be used as well, good luck hope your friend gets out soon.
