Most Liquid Crystal Televisions (LC-TV) have wide 170 degree horizontal and vertical viewing angles.
Typical plasma TV viewing angles are 160 degrees.
LC-TV Wide TV viewing angles allow greater viewing locations and TV placement.
Screen Sizes LC-TVs come in a variety of sizes: 13", 15", 20", 26", 32", 37", 45", 65".
Plasma displays are not produced smaller than 32".
LC-TVs offer screen sizes to fit nearly every room and budget.
Burn-in:
LCD- No image burn-in.
Plasma-The following inputs are not recommended:
- Computer Input
- Video Game input
Also, video broadcasts with logos at the bottom, or a station identifying logo "watermark" can cause burn-in of static images (i.e. CNN, ESPN, MSNBC, etc).
LC-TVs offer the most versatile input options.
Brightness
LC-TVs have a brightness range of 430 - 500 cd/m2.
Plasma TVs are measured based on a different standard than LCD panels. When compared under the same circumstances as LC-TV, plasma display brightness is typically about 100 cd/m2.
LC-TV Brightness is important to help ensure optimal viewing under varied daily lighting conditions.
Weight:
LCD panels are lighter and more manageable. Most customers can easily mount an LCD panel. In addition, most models come with a built-in table stand.
Plasma TVs are about an inch deeper and are fairly heavy, and may need additional wall support or professional installation.
LC-TVs offer the ability to easily mount and move the TV. In addition, they also offer versatile installations with use of mounting brackets and articulating arms. The heavier more fragile Plasma TVs can be a challenge to move and have limited installation options.
Product LC-TVs have a life-span of 60,000 hours*.
Typical plasma displays have a life-span of 20,000 to 30,000 hours and once the brightness level decreases, there is no recovery, so the TV must be replaced.
LC-TV Make your investment last longer.
Power Consumption LCD panels consume about half the power of plasma displays.
Plasma displays require more power to light each cell individually.
LC-TV Save energy costs and the environment.
Altitude:
LCD-No altitude limitations.
When Plasma TVs are placed in homes at elevations above 6,500 feet, they will often emit an annoying buzzing noise. This is due to the fact that the plasma gas inside the TV is subject to air pressure, and the higher the altitude, the more the TV will be prone to buzzing.
LC-TV's will perform consistently regardless of altitude.

I would go with an lcd over plasma. lcds have higher resolution, better contrast ratio, wider viewing area, and you get a lot more options for your money. lcds also take more advantages of hdtv options as opposed to plasmas. plasmas also have trouble with things being burned into the screen. Say you leave the tv on a certain channel for a couple of days, the network logo such as nbcs peacock could be burned into your tv and you'll never be able to get it out. With lcds this will never happen, also you could use your lcd as a computer monitor if you wanted to. How cool is it to have a 32" pc monitor.

LCD is the better choice because Plasma's are victim to "burn out" . Also size of LCD are getting larger now so Plasma are losing an edge in that area. I have a 32" LCD and did my homework before I made a buy.

Use a seek engine sort in plasma vs liquid crystal demonstrate. do no longer seek LED, because of the fact it is basically merchandising. LED TVs are basically liquid crystal demonstrate TVs with LED backlights as a substitute of CCFL backlights. liquid crystal demonstrate TVs with LEDs oftentimes carry out greater effective than different liquid crystal demonstrate TVs, yet they nonetheless have each and every of the failings of liquid crystal demonstrate TVs.
