It actually says "If your right eye offend you, pluck it out, and cast it from you".
Therefore if your brain commits sin, (by working and showing you that religion is nonsense), should you pluck your brain out, throw it away, and become a christian?

Hahaha.
That was funny.
A weird, and stretched interpretation of the Bible--but funny, nonetheless.
You just made my day.

The organs themselves won't be able to commit a sin. Sin is from the soul. So in case you shoot somebody - it is not the gun and it is not your hand - it is you. to make certain if a verse interior the bible is literal it is the comparable as with something. Is the literal meaning contradicted by the comparable source? Self mutilation is. So it is not literal. it is like investigating against the regulation and not getting each and every of the information; or analyzing a e book yet basically having the movements of the characters without what they experience/think of/pay attention/see/journey. each and every e book you examine teaches you the thank you to make sure it. without analyzing the completed text fabric you will no longer comprehend it. Ian Irvine is a sturdy occasion of this imo : /

LOL :)
Well, since "sin" is a concept entirely having to do with offending god, and I don't believe there is a god, I've never sinned -- so I won't be needing the axe anytime soon.
However, since there are a large number of self-righteous christians around here that *do* believe in god and sin, I guess I should expect to see body parts flying everywhere, huh?
Oh, wait, that would mean actually DOING the things their religion tells them to do -- and I don't know any that do that. Oh, well -- guess it'll save us a big mess to clean up anyway. :)

Well, truthfully, I think that being brainwashed into taking a religion's text literally would be punishment enough for the brain that sinned...

good luck with that
but now i have a question:
if your brain commits sin, and then you pluck your brain out because the Bible says so...wouldn't you be christian in the first place because you're listening to the Bible?
so why would you become a christian afterwards?

You read that in the Old Testament of the Bible which was written under the "Old Laws". When Jesus came, died and rose again, He did away with all the old laws. May God Bless

You are taking the answer literally. What it means is you must die to those parts of your body. If your right eye looks in lust then turn your eye away from that which is making you lust. If your right hand stole something, then control it and make it not steal anything. thats what it means.

HA HA HA HA H VERY FUNNY!!! he didn't mean practically and at all times..................... yea if u feel inclined to cut ur brain off cause u sinned u can do it but wat God meant there was that you should keep away from sin and hold down and reject watevr is making you sin. He said if your hand is turning you to sin!! STOP IT!!! OK
YOU CAN CHOP THE HAND OFF IF YOU WANN BUT HE WANTS YOU TO STOP SINNIG NOT KILLING YOUR SELF. AND IF YOU JUZ ASK FOR FORGIVENESS YOU WILL BE FORGIVEN WITHOUT HAVING TO CUT OFF YOUR BODY PARTS.
(and you noe killing yourself is a SIN!!!)
