Use Matrix Sleek Look line if it is too expensive then use the generic version, Sally's Beauty Supply sells it for $4.50 a bottle.

It depends on the straightener that you use. When I first decided to straighten my hair I bought a cheap straightener for about $20 and it didn't work at all. However, there is a huge difference between a cheap straightener and a really good straightener, which will cost around $100. After the cheap straightener didn't work I gave up until I got a good one for Christmas and it works great. I suggest a Chi straightener and it also does not hurt to use a straightening gel on your hair before you blow dry it.

I have the same problem.. first switch to the sunsilk shampoo and conditioner that is anti- poof.. it really works. You can also get the helen of troy straighteners, they work well with poofy/ curly hair. Also when you straighten your hair get the cream to put in it that protects it from the straightener, it helps it get even more straight and protects it. Trust me, my hair is poofy and curly- this works!

By straightners do you mean like a flat iron?? It may not be hot enough, you might also have to perm it. My best friend is Irish and has curly blonde hair and has to iron it. I'm Mexican so it's about as straight as straight can get and I often wish that my hair would hold a curl for longer then an hour. Everyone wants what they don't have, but I'm sure your hair is beautiful.

Girl, I have your problem on my head. I had someone teach me how to use a straightner. Hot n Gold is a cool brand. First, run some product through your hair from scalp to tip, so you don't destroy it. I don't know your hair, so I'd pop my head into a salon, (preferably gay) and ask someone their what they'd use. Then, set your straightner at medium towards hot-NOT all the way hot-you'll burn your hair. Put all your hair on top of your head with a clip, & take a chunk the size of a quarter or smaller, and starting from the scalp, after you brush it, pull the straightner through, let your hair cool, and brush that piece, if you need to, repeat. good luck.

Start by drying your hair in small sections with a large round brush. Also apply a "gloss" serum to your hair about half way through drying it.

a good hair straightner is the Wet 2 Straight. it's better to do it whenever your hair is dry, not wet. it works like a charm, and it's pretty cheap. if straightners don't work you could always use shampoos and conditioners and lotions... but those tend to make hair look dirtier.

I use Infusium Leave-In Conditioner, and then once it's mostly dry follow it by a straighening balm and finish drying it with a hair dryer with the comb attachment.

Try a different conditioner that moisturizes or use hair creams if it's poofy because it's frizzy.
