Fate is determined by the accumulated result of one's deeds and misdeeds with intent to harm other living beings in violations of the principles of Truth in one life time. That is carried over to the next life which, in a way , justifies rebirth in Hindu way of faith. Hence, fate is predetermined so far as this life is concerned.

A lot of spiritual teachings talk about scripting and basically it refers to "fate." In between lives we write our script of the items we want to accomplish in the next life. The catch is that before we can begin any new soul growing work we have to complete the lessons from the past life we didn't get a chance to finish. We write in if options are available and why we won't take them. If we allow ourselves the option and do take it we will eventually return to that place to choose again. That's why it seems like the same situation keeps coming up in your life, you haven't yet succeeded in taking the right course of action or inaction.

So yes it is predetermined and we determine it with the aid of our guides and loved ones.

Sort of, but its not quite that simple.

Suppose you stand a card on its edge so it stands straight up. If you knew the exact position and momentum of every random air molecule that hit it, you would be able to predict which way it will fall over. But how would you measure every air molecule without disturbing the air? Its called Heisenburg's uncertainty principle, and it also has to do with the wave-like nature of matter that is explained here: http://www.quantumintro.com/

Because you can never figure out exactly where all the particles are, you can't predict which way the card will fall. Some say that the card actually falls both ways (or at least that's what the equations indicate), but lands with each face up in a seperate universe! Yes, I meant what I said, and no, I'm not a crackpot. Both ways up, and each possibility in its own plane of existence. Its called multiverse theory. After you're done with the intro to quantum mechanics, this will make interesting reading:

And if you feel a little lost about the idea of superposition:

And if you want (slightly indirect) proof:

So you might be able to predict the set of possible outcomes (card goes left and right) but not which path you personally will wind up upon. You don't really have free will because there are a finite quantity of possible sets of action you can take, but you have a convincing illusion because all possible versions of your actions exist somewhere in the multiverse. Cool, huh?

Fate is more a Greek myth lexicon thing. Predetermined is a fixed thing as a culmination of things. I definitely believe in destiny. Type in
' define ' in your search window, then the word you want.

That's what fate means, that things are predetermined.

since fate does not exist, then it cannot be predetermined.

Good question! I think that maybe fate happens in our lives, but most is timing and coincidence.

God knows what the outcome of our lives will be but he gives us the free will to make the decisions, he just knows what we are going to choose. To say God has chosen certain people to go to heaven and certain to go to hell is a complete contradiction of his word which tells us we have free will to chose him as savior, everyone has the same chance to go to heaven, some have more chances than other, some choose life and some choose death.
