Jesus never broke the Sabbath. No Bible verse states that He ever did. Jesus kept the Sabbath in a way that conflicted with man-made traditions concerning the Sabbath.
Jesus' disciples never broke the Sabbath. No Bible verse states that they ever did.
Since Jesus nor His disciples ever broke the Sabbath according to the Bible, then the answer to your question is a double no; Jesus was not a sinner and Jesus did not break the Sabbath.

No because he said he is Lord over the Sabbath Day also because he invented it. He was basically saying it was okay to feed yourself or do anything good on the Sabbath. It was made for man in that it is a day for us to rest which everybody needs to function at our maximum.

each of the gospels was written for a specific audience and with a particular author point of view. In order for the gospel to have "authority" it was expressed that the gospel was written by a particular disciple.
there were more than 4 gospels, it was just decided there could only be four, just like the 4 winds, the 4 corners of the earth, etc.
Anyway, this particular story was written by a gentile for the gentile audience and was part of the anti-jew stories as Christianity began to separate itself from the Jewish religion.
Try to find the story where Jesus states, I came to fulfil the law, not to destroy it. It is not in this gospel. Contradictory, huh.

If your employer gives you Sunday's off, and you decide you want to work on Sunday, what's the harm?
Jesus said, man was not created to serve the Sabbath, the sabbath was created to serve (help) Man.
God simply gave us a day off. Holy does not mean religious, it means clean. Clean from obligations.
The Sabbath is a gift to the working person.
If I give you a gift, you can choose to do what you want with it. Why? Because it now belongs to you.
If some Sunday you want to Work, so what? As long as it is voluntary and not forced on you by your employer.

No, Sabbath observation are for the Jews under Mosaic Law. it is time for them to observe spiritual matters.
Jesus (and us) are not under the Mosaic Law.
Jesus said: “My Father has kept working until now, and I keep working.” (John 5:17) Jesus was not performing secular work in order to enrich himself. Rather, he was doing the will of God. Just as the Levites were allowed to continue their sacred service on the Sabbath, Jesus could rightfully carry out his God-assigned duties as the Messiah without violating God’s Law.—Matthew 12:5.

No it was a choice they were given; which was more valuable the Sabbath or a soul(s)?
To use a similar analogy; if one's spouse or child is in serious need of medical attention; should one obey the 20 MPH speed limit sign along the way?
