Is it really true that lemon juice (when combined with honey) makes your skin fairer? I have been getting really bad tan lines while my visit to Florida and just want them to be gone.
How long does it take for the changes to be visible? Oh, and how much to put on? Thanks....

Hey I don't know about lemon juice and honey, but I guess it would be ok if you had a cold - esp mixed with rum and hot water........

Lemon does help to lighten the skin. If you cut a lemon in half, rub it over your face and let it sit for 5 minutes, then rinse off with warm water...it can help to lighten the skin within a week or two.
This recipe is one that I have used when I don't have a skin lightening cream/lotion/serum readily availiable:
Mix a 1/2 teaspoon of water with baking soda, enough for it to form a paste - Massage over the skin for 1-2 minutes, and rinse off with lukewarm water..
It works a bit faster than the lemon juice, and can energize dull looking skin.
...and next time you're in Florida...use sun screen!!

You can use concha shell bleach. Its about $4.00 in the grocery or drug store. It feels some what like a scrub but you leave it on for a determined amount of time. It has not been known to be harmful to my knowledge and cleans and brightens the skin nicely.

just use intensive moisturizer lemon juice is very dangerous since the acid has the tendency to dry ur skin more. I would recommend u to wear long sleeve shirts since its winter while ur skin is healing using moisturizer. Try Palmers' cocoa butter lotion original scent.

You can use turmeric, gram flour (besan) or home made face pack using readily available ingredients. You can find more cost effective and natural home remedies for making your skin fair at

i have heard that for hair. so i suppose it might work on your face, too. i don't think it will do much though. perhaps you should just use concealer, or self-tanner to even out your skin tone.
good luck
