EVERYTHING!
All joking aside... anything that is important to you. Shoes, clothes, pictures, small objects, etc. Also, make sure you have several toys for the puppy, my puppy tends to get bored. Advice... if you don't want your dog to chew shoes... don't get toys that look like shoes!
Have fun with your puppy, they are a joy!!!!!

Anything that you don't want to be chewed up, anything that the puppy will be able to reach from his level that could be knocked off of tables or desks or things like that. All electrical cords, because for some reason, I have never had a puppy that doesn't want to chew up my electrical cords. Basically anything that you yourself can get to when you are on the puppy's level (like on your hands and knees). And of course, puppy will climb, so if there are things up a little higher that are really important to you, you might want to go ahead and move those to. Good luck and best wishes. Hearing about other people getting new puppies makes me want a new one, but also reminds me how glad I am that all five of mine are grown now :)

Get down on your hands and knees and move anything she can get, including those items she can jump up to get.
Shoes, plants, books, toys, etc..
You would be surprised by what a dog may decide to chew.
Our lab decided she liked wood and 75% of our furniture is wood!!! She chewed table and chair legs, the side of my dresser, the coffee table (top and legs) and the knobs off the tv cabinet!!
We tried spraying bitter apple spray but instead of deterring her she became more destructive!
If you are really concerned about the pup chewing things, get a crate to keep her in when you are not around and when you are able to supervise her, limit where she can go (1 room?).
We had baby gates installed 2 years before we had kids. lol
But they kept her out of the kitchen (cat's food) and the bathroom (litter box), and we kept a spring mounted gate on hand. We could use it to block a hallway or doorway, depending on where we were and where we wanted her to be.
Good Luck and congrats on your new baby!

A puppy playpen is great for pups to stay in when they cannot be supervised, such as at night, when you are wroking, cleaning house, out shopping, etc. You out them in the pen with food, water, toys, bed, puppy pads. You also need to make sure all meds are kept up out of reach, any cleaning supplies are out of reach, any small items. Just like you would prepare for a baby. Enjoy your new puppy. Below is a link to the types of pens I am talking about. You can get them at Petsmart, Petco, etc. Have no idea what the dog will look like. Have you not seen the pup yet?

i dont know what it will look like but put up anything it can hurt itself on most people dont think about it but electrical cords are bad puppies like 2 chew them and it would be a good idea if you have any houseplants to go oline and look them up to see if they are poisonous to your pup and if you find that you cant possibly completely puppy proof a kennel crate might be a good idea for when you wont be home the crate also helps for house breaking a pup as they do not usually go in the crates but if they happen to its a much more confined clean up

Hands and knees....the best advise. Tin foil the cords....and in tough cases.....you may have run your cords in pvc tubes....depending on what kind of chewing machine you have.
Make sure all your closet door are pulled shut all the way.
With my newest puppy...I had to take all the sheers off my windows. He redeorated. If have can blinds with the cords that hang......wrap them up far out of puppies reach.
Oh yeah....if you have pillows on your sofa....put them in the closet too.
Good Luck with your new pup!

Get down on your hands and knees anything that will be at puppy level. Particularly wires, children's toys and any small choking hazard or something the pup might chew.
