I feed my dog once a day, but If it looks to me like the dog was hungry I always go back to make sure he has enopugh food for later. Some dogs need more food than others so depending on the dogs size, activity level, and weight you both may be doing the right thing. If her dog looks too thin though she is definately underfeeding him and she should make sure to feed him twice a day or a little more once a day.

It should all depend on the bread and the weight of the dog! I feed my dog once a day at around six or 5:30 and he is fine, also sometimes i give him a bone to keep his teeth healthy!

Dogs should be fed at least twice a day. There are a few schools of thinking but I feel that if the animal is young and not a gorging eater dry food should be left in the bowl all day

You should feed twice a day. I feed at 6am and 6pm and I keep water out all day. The amount you feed depends on the size of the dog. I have a great dane and she gets 3-4 cups per feeding

I have always fed my dogs twice a day, morning and evening. I think your girlfriends dog may be hungry during the day.

Dogs should be fed twice a day. Not once, especially if that once is at night.

i "free-feed" my 2 German shepherds...which means i have an auto feeder that allows food to be in their dish all day....so they can eat when they want to....this is good for my 2...they don't over-eat so i don't have to worry...
good luck
