Hi, while you are FOR illegal immigration. Tell me why we should not lower minimum wage to closer resemble what they are currently paid.

If we lower the minimum wage, it will just harm American workers. We should create penalties for business that hire illegal workers if we can't get rid of them. If businesses are allowed to hire aliens and pay them s***, then American workers will lose jobs.

The illegal employers who hire the illegal immigrants don't even know what the minimum wage is.....and they don't care, either.
Lowering it would only harm the poor people who are legally trying to get by on the present minimum wage - which is lower overall in many cases than unemployment benefits - go figure.

Post hoc ergo proctor hoc. Domestic wages are an element to this debate, but your question implies that it is the only element. Again there is the important element of morality. The world is not a vacuum, if we continue to take many of the leaders and thinkers from the developing world (the ones their fledgling states have invested in) we will continue to leave behind a diminished professional class. This can exascerbate the problem.
I don't think it is appropriate to be the world's largest beneficiary of the brain drain and be repulsed when non-professionals who are less likely to get a visa want to come here as well.

well it would show to ppl that there not taking there jobs cuz no 1 in the us is gonna work 4 $2 a hour but then theres the rest of the country that get paid the minimum and want more so that's y in some sates they rise it and it looks good on the person raising it

I'm not for illegal immigrants. Rather, for increased legal immigration. But I also say, in the face of our superior market efficiency, abolish the minimum wage.

not just illegals work at min wage jobs. lowering it would definatly be a step in the wrong direction. wages don't come up as fast as the cost of living either, not even close!

I do not work and my husband makes much higher than min. wage so I do not care! I do not want it higher anyways!
