Christianity is the answer.

Every religious and philosophical system has its own path to "ultimate fulfillment." In order to reach a "higher level," one must discipline their thoughts and actions in such a way as to reach this goal, or "salvation."

For example:

* Buddhists strive for their goal through chanting and prayer.
* Muslims strive for their goal by submitting to the will of Allah.
* Anarchists strive for their goal by rebelling against society.
* Hedonists strive for their goal by seeking pleasure.
* Catholics strive for their goal by keeping the sacraments.
* Many others who consider themselves "Christian" strive for their goal through regular church attendance, and doing good things.
* Mystics and occultists strive for their by seeking supernatural experiences.
* Atheists strive for their goal by disproving the existence of God.

I could go on, but you probably get the idea by now.

In the face of all these human religions and philosophies, biblical Christianity teaches something completely opposite:

"It is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -- not by works, so that no one can boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9)

No matter how hard you try, you can't save yourself. Still, to receive the gift, there is something you need to do, right here, right now:

* Put your full trust and faith in Jesus Christ -- Not only that He exists, that He is the Son of God, that He died, was buried, and brought back to life, but also that He is your only hope for salvation, and that He is your highest authority.

That is not correct. Yes, you are forgiven, but you must sincerely repent and resolve not to sin again. The fact that people fail in this resolve is a human trait that God recognizes, so you must continue to struggle and continue to make the resolve until you succeed.

Dear Jesus_lov,

You are 90% right but that 10% is critical. What you are describing is called liscentiousness (thinking we have a lisence to sin because of grace- Paul preaches against this in Romans and Galatians). It is true that as you quoted Ephesians 2:8-9 that we are saved by grace and not by our own righteous works. However, we are saved from bondage to sinfulness and although this side of Heaven we will never be perfect, our relationship with God should help us sin less and as a believer we remember that to love God is to obey Him. Obedience does not have a heart that says i can do whatever i want and God will not care.

I appreciate your attempt to share the gospel. But you should share the full and complete gospel and not try to "entice people" to believe in God under the false supposition that they can accept God but not accept God's ways.

Ephesians 2:10 tells us that we are God's workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. (How can we do the work of God without the attitude and Holy Spirit of God?)

The bible also tells us that we confess with our mouth but believe in our heart. We believe that we need rescuing from sin. We believe that sin is offensive to God and separates us from God and thus need the salvation from sin that Jesus can offer. To repent is the two greek words- meta (change as in metamorphosis) and noia (mind), to repent is to have a change of mind about sin... So we can not say we are saved and have a flippant attitude about sin. There are sins we may struggle with but that our hearts say i want to be rid of that because it displeases the Lord.

Kindly,

Nickster

I think you have missed the point of Christianity. Becoming a Christian is not a license to sin without consequences. All actions, all behavior has consequences -- some good, some bad. You cannot do anything without consequences.

Lets bypass all the mumbo jumbo and get to the point.
If you have no desire to change you are not saved. One of the fruits of salvation is the desire to change....

Get a life

That is absurd. No one needs to be saved! Most souls cross over, Jesus has nothing to do with it. Sin, hell, and satan are man made words, not God made.

What is it you want to be saved from???

When we die - we go back to where we came from ( or to where we want to go)

So - what exactly are you trying to save?? the Body?? that's impossible.
Your Soul???
Doesn't need saving - cannot be harmed.

Maybe you should worry about saving yourself first, instead of worrying about the salvation of others.

You cannot be saved if you have no intention to change.
