I am currently a christian at the Church of Christ. I have been saved but I am so lost right now. I know there is something that put us here, and no I do not believe that we had millions of cells magically get put together to create us, we are to complex. The body is I mean. So I feel some greater power did put us here. And whenever I am in a bad spot it's funny how I always find myself praying to God to help me. But I don't want to go to God in just a time of need, I want to go to Him always. What are some things you guys do to help you believe better. Ready the Bible, go to church. What else can I do? Please help me!

fastchad2, I think it would help you to read some about Vedanta philosophy,it is what jesus taught.only much more clear. if you still wish to be a christian, that will be ok,with eastern teachings there is nothing to "join" ,it is just practices that help you to awake to the presence of ; www.geocities.com/mihirig/siddhayoga , and www.stephen-knapp.com/articles_to_read.htm and syda.org/theguru the word Guru means teacher,Jesus was a siddha yoga guru, see romans 8-29 this speaks of the guru diciple relationship.

Try finding a Bible study away from your church. Try to find some solid christian friends you can talk to and hang with. If you are struggling with faith or facts like creation or evolution, look at Apologetics Press. they are Church of Christ and have a tremendous amount of solid facts that support creation and debunk evolution. The two editors there both have a Ph. D in some filed of science. Look up Apologetics press on line they have a good web site. They are solid stable christians.
Another thing you can do is start visiting different churches. You may find that you fit better some where else-and you may not. Check out Baptist, Presbyterian, Calvary Chapel. If music offends you, stay where you are. Church of Christ is a little legalistic in that area. But all churches are short somewhere.
Personally I read the Bible twice every day (2 or more chapters). That really helps me. Fellowship with other believers is crucial though.

Try reading the Bible in a new way. Pick a topic and look up every text you can find on that topic. Compare text with text, scripture with scripture. This will help you by defining what the whole Bible has to say in each area of study. The Bible is not written like a textbook where all the information about one topic is in the same chapter. It requires some searching. You will find that you have a renewed trust in the things of God, gratitude for His providence in every area of your life, and hope in the soon return of Jesus Christ.

Since God Alone is our protecting Friend and God Alone is Sufficent for us we should resort to God AlMighty Alone at all times, whether good or bad. We are vile, abject, helpless creatures who are totally dependant on our AlMighty God for everything. If you want to be closer to God just pray to God and remember when you make the first step with a sincere and loyal heart, God won't leave you alone and will guide you and tell you about the purpose of your existence, as each and every one of us has a responsibility and duty towards our Lord.
At present stage of human history, when the continued work of the Godly-guidance stands, already, perfected in terms of the long series of prophets and their Scriptures. And__ the Day of Judgement is also at hand. The masses must review, all and all of that, which is being maintained by them; in the name of faith and belief.

The ignorant must pay heed to the Scriptures and the Message of Monotheism, contained therein. Still there is some time for the Repentive Recourse to reform and recognize the actual purpose of life including the actualisation thereof.

Jesus (PBUH) had given this message in his prayer on the cross (The Psalm 22)

“Praise the Lord, you servants of the Lord
Honour the Lord,
You descendants of Jacob
Worship the Lord, you people of Israel.”
(The Psalm 22:23)

It means that praise is meant for the Lord alone. And___ to honour the Lord means to obey the Lord in terms of the Lord’s Commandments and to worship the Lord means to seek help and refuge from the Lord as the Lord is the Omnipotent-Protector alone. And___ that is the sole purpose of human life.

Try to make time to spend with the Lord early in the day. Read a devotional book along with the bible. It will help you to understand it better.
Listen to Bible teachers on the radio every day will also help you to stay close to the Lord.
Get yourself some uplifting praise and worship music and play it in the car or at home.
Speak to The Lord in silent prayer through out your day.
Include him in every important decision.
Do a small group bible study or do a bible study on line.
Reach out to those in need. ie. visit a lonely senior, sponsor a child, be a big brother, write to prisoners, etc.
Try to find ways to stay focused on the Lord.
Blessings:
Kait

I use to be a steady church goer and I use to really believe in God and everything he stands for. And even though I don't go to church anymore, I still believe in God and everything he stands for. My mom, she is a complete christian and yes she makes mistakes shes only human. But we all are except for the pets and other animals. And as humans we are going to experience troubles and doubts. Maybe you should talk with your preacher he would be the one to give you the best advice. And yes sometimes it is hard to understand where we come from, even to this day I still don't know and it makes me wonder so much. Should you find any information on this from biblical resources or from your minister then please email me. It may be the information I need to start going back to Church my self. Good Luck. my email address is amandaappling_21@yahoo.com. Should you find some information, please let me know.

Instead of just going to Church (which you should continue going to), read the Bible. Both the Old and New Testament. Also, go into a youth group to discuss the Bible and ask questions on what you don't get.

I am a Christian and i have had plenty of times when it came across my mind just to throw in the towel, and do whatever. But its a quiet voice that comes to me and gives me encouragement and reassure me that I'm on the right path and don't give in to temptation. To me when everything is going perfect and nothing is wrong this is when you should be pray life should be on guard. Because this is when the enemy is setting up a attack in your live. Just have FAITH in God and know he will be there for you and your be fine.
*Faith coming by Hearing, Hearing by the Word of God(Bible)*
*Now Faith is the Susbtance of things hope for the eviendence of things unseen*
Faith will help you believe better.

reading bible, go to church.. spend quiet time with God... appreciate him whenever you look around at nature....listening to worship music really touches my heart....helping others, facing difficult challenges and giving him credit....looking for his will in every event that happens.

i think you will find your own way .....if you look for him... you will find him....each person is unique.... God will relate to you in a way that fits you best...and this may be a different experience than what someone else has...just appreciate your own relationship with him....
