No and yes the 6 pixels will do the average person just find But for 50 dollars the 7.2 will be a little sharper clearer picture but I don't know if you could tell the differences, both are fine for about any picture you need to take.I am using a 1.2 and can see the pictures fine.

You will notice very little. The difference is minimal. It basically means you will be able to print at a size that you would never print at anyway. It does however become useful if you edit a lot in photoshop or similar, as when you crop or make other edits to a photo, it throws away pixels. And as you can imagine, if your doing this, you need as many spare pixels as possible. I would say get the 6. Unless it has alot more features that you would use on the 7.2

listen if you want a better picture, dont worry about the megapixels, you wont notice it at all. What you need to look at is the CPU and wich one dilivers better color. people think that jus cuz they have a 10 megapixel camera its gunna look like a million times better but the color is what counts. Unless your into cropping and zomming in after youve taken the pic, then get the 7.2

Not really. Only if there are some more features on the 7.2 to justify the extra $$.
If you print poster-sized pictures, go for the 7.2, but for the average 4x6 and 8x10, you'll be just fine with the 6 mega pixels

It's likely that you won't notice a difference at all by just looking at it, but the 7.2 megapixels will make pictures that can be inlarged more before losing too much quality

Check the size of the sensor. If both are the same size, the 7.2MP may produce more noise than the 6MP. If they are different brand, compare everything else before consider Mega Pixel as Mega Pixel should be one of the last thing to consider when buying a digital camera. Sensor size, lens quality, the camera responsiveness, image processor, those are way more important to consider than mega pixel itself.

Not enough to be worth $50. Both have more than enough for a 5*7 print.

As you can see by the later answers, there is more to be considered than jus thow many pixels there are.

If you have two specific models in mind, it would be a good idea to post the models names here and see if anyone can advise you about the other factors. It will be worth your while to do this.

If you have 2 specific camera models in mind, go to www.dpreview or www.stevesdigicams to see reviews and features of each camera. Image quality depends on other things besides pixel count, and more is not always better.
Good luck!
