I am a Deist. We believe in God, but do not believe in holy texts. So there is a whole religion out there that believes in God, but no texts.

Sure, there are many religions that have one or more gods that don't use the bible.

an example:
I heard recently about a growing belief among some quantum physics people, something about an 'observer'. I didn't understand most of what was said, but this field of science may go in the direction of needing the existance of a god for observations to be explained. Check out the movie "What the Bleep do We Know?"

Ya well what I have been taught before is that you don't have to believe everything the bible says. Some of the stuff can be a little weird but other stuff does make some sense. Like how the earth and stuff was created you may be like what I so did not learn it that way in science class so just go with what you feel.

The Bible is like an ocean of truth,
most of us, even true believers, never get out of sight of the shore, if my finite mind could fully understand an infinite God, I would know that he isn't infinite and therefore not God.
I don't believe the Bible is the word of God,
I know the Bible is the word of God.
It's nomal to not understand everything.
If you're willing to study the Bible.
go to www.ttb.org.
I will pray that God blesses you in your search for truth.

Yes! *raises hand*. The bible is mostly fiction, in my opinion. God is not so jealous that he would send anyone to a place called hell. If the bible had stopped at the gospels, it may have been a decent book. After that, it is just full of crap!

well the bible is kind of comfusing at first when you open a bible .I
I think it is fine just to like god and believe in him , why they came up with a bible is becuase they wanted to tell about what happend to god and about his life and why he is very important. And some people say that's why were on tthee earth and a live because god suffered his life for us.

It's simple people. If there is a heaven and you want in, there are just two things you need do.
A: treat others as you would have them treat you.
B: help those that cannot help themselves.
If there is a god and it sends peoples souls to eternal damnation just for not singing its' praises, then it is no better than a hussein or a hitler.

That's the Holy Spirit working in you. You may come to learn to love the Bible....let the Spirit guide you...you are on the right track.

The truth of the Bible is this - and it is the only purpose:

"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God: that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."

Believing in God is being spiritual. Reading the bible and assimilating the pearls of wisdom contained in the bible of Christianity is following your religion.

Spirituality and religion are entirely different things. The followers of spirituality enter the domain of God. They ultimately gain enlightenment in the last leg of their journey as a human being and reach the stage of salvation (aka Moksha in Hinduism).

Spirituality is never taught in schools but religion is. Spirituality can never be taught in schools. It is only available in the sacred scriptures of the various religions of the world.

Following religion is having a belief in God. Not necessarily that a believer in religion is required to follow the path of spirituality. How many all over the world desire enlightenment and finally salvation. It is not that easy to achieve.

Religion primarily is following an enlightened master. Jesus Christ gained enlightenment and his teachings were recorded in the bible. The religion that followed was known as Christianity. A believer in Jesus Christ need not be believer of spirituality. One can partly follow both. It is always best to follow your religion and also the path of spirituality if one seeks gaining entry into the house of God one-day.

Belief or disbelief in the bible need not necessarily mean that the teachings of the bible are incomprehensible. It is purely a matter of belief and faith. As many human beings as many paths for reaching the kingdom of God! In the system of God human beings (the highest stage of manifestation) have been given the power of discrimination to choose what suits them best. To follow or not to follow is the soul prerogative of every human being. More here- http://www.godrealized.com/god.html

There are approximately 34,000 sects of christianity. They each have a different take on the christian bible, therefore they each have their own idea of what god is.

There are also thousands of religions that don't follow the christian bible, so to answer your question, yes.
