Mathematics is the art of arts and science of sciences. It is the language of logic and precision. The laws of Nature can best be explained in mathematical language because what is true in the parts is also true in the whole. The macrocosm and the microcosm are proportionately the same. Man has devised Mathematics to understand the infinity, the ration between one and the many.

I was all set to give the real answer, but Sudonym X got here first. It isn't nature that is mathematical, only our understanding of nature. The development of mathematics, I believe, was humanity's first major excusion outside of the physical world and into the purely mental world. Numbers are necessarily infinite, but it is a purely mental concept of infinity that does not point at any infinity that exists in reality. Numbers interact perfectly and predictably with other numbers, but in the physical world, numbers only approximate what happens in reality. We can calculate numbers that can get pretty close to modeling observed reality, but the truth is that the real world is much more complex and chaotic than the world inside our heads, which is the real domain of numbers. Mathemeticians are constantly trying to learn new and more effective ways to use numbers- ways that account for the randomness that physical reality exhibits. If you look closely enough into mathematics, you can see the interaction between nature and the mind of humankind, but we are not and never have been nearly as clever as we would like to be. The search goes on.

The the laws of nature are not mathematical. It is our modeling of the laws of nature that is mathematical.

The 6 sided shape of the honey comb is the strongest shape in nature. Carbon has 6 atoms and in all organic compounds. God put math in nature so we can basically be the same size and share parts, so we can see eye to eye.

because God created that system too. (I know you gotta love that answer)
Seriously though, as dumb as some of His ambassodors sound (including me at times) God is HIGHLY intelligent, and very creative, and created the world to have order (mathmatics is very ordered.) As a the laws of physics do you know that Isaac Newton was a Christian, there are 20 more whom I could list as being followers of Jesus Christ.
May God bless you as you seek Him.

I wish it were though.

all of existence is a computer simulation.
probably not, but it would be a good argument considering the quantization of energy and mass.
