I am so saddened by some of the above answers! How can you refuse Him?
Think about it for a minute ...
We have a world (perhaps the only one in the universe) which is teaming with life! Plants, Insects, Animals, People, even micro-scopic life! The Earth has been (and is) home to a multitude of life for countless eons!
What make you think that all of this "Just Happened"? One moment there was nothing, and just for the heck of it, Bang! There was life on only one planet in the known universe?
Granted, we have only explored a few planets in our solar system thus far! Still, we have SETI and have 'heard' nothing from another living being! --- Sorry, I am getting away from the question ...
In short ... So much life on one world does not 'just happen'! The odds (while I don't know what they are) must be incredible! Winning the lottery 100 times in a row seems more likely!
Thus, there has to be a greater being! Someone who was (is) the reason for our being!
Call Him or Her or Them what you will! We cannot have 'just happened'!
IMHO,

If you are a believer then Yes He has to exist because He said He was the Alpha and the Omega, always was and always will be. If you believe in evolution then no He does not have to exist, but hey it's pretty obvious there is a creator, the Bible says "only a fool would say in his heart there is no God", look @ the complexities of the human body, look at the perfect laws of science look @ the universe there must be a creator.

Not necessarily.
The belief in God or gods was created a long time ago to explain things that humans couldn't explain themselves.
I'm sure God exists for those who have faith. I know, for my sister, God is something--or someone she can look to for spiritual support.
Personally, I am not a very religious person. Though if almost every religion claims there is a God--or gods, there just might be something out there.
But, no, he doesn't HAVE to exist

In his famous "I think, therefore I am" meditation, Descartes eliminated all of the things that he could not be certain existed. He wound up with nothing but his own mental awareness. From this point, he attempted to logically reconstruct proof that everything else exists. The first thing he did was prove the existence of God, and all of his further proofs of the world's existence was based on the fact of God's existence.
Not every philosopher agrees with Descartes.

No. Existence runs according to a cycle. God may have created it. And it may end one day. But God is not necessary for this to all happen.

O yeah. Whether we call the force that takes care of us God, Allah, Elohim AL Shadai etc, the fact remains that there is a force that puts and sustain everything in being. If this force has to remove or stop its sustance of the universe, the whole being will be annihilated. I mean completely cease to exist.

You mean The Almighty Yahweh Elohim, of course that is the meaning of His name. Yahweh = Self Existing. He can exist alone by Himself, He is not dependent on anything neither dependent on anyone in order to exist. He is Yahweh the Self Existing One. He cause the beginning of all things. And He can also end all things.

well, some may think that, but to their grand illusion i speculate, where did god come from? if he was here for all of time, where did time come from in the first place? it HAD to start somewhere. humans NEED to feel like they have a hold on the universe, like they know alittle bit about whats going on, it helps them to not be scared, that's why they created the thought of the afterlife, i understand why people hold so tightly to the thought of a loving god who will let us live forever in eternal paradise, ahhh what a pleasant thought? makes coping with this hard life alot easier, doesn't it? its kind of like a little kids security blanket, it makes things easier, believe me, ignorance is bliss, i wish i had a god to believe in...
