I don't think any religion will make death something you long for, except I guess wahabiist Islam. I would urge you to turn to Christianity so at least you'll be on the path to eternal life. Scared or not of death, when you do actually die you'll be very happy.

It is natural to be afraid of death. Death is an unknown place and no one knows for sure why or what happens when you die. I spent quite a good amount of time trying to figure it out myself and to research it to no avail when I lost people really close to me. The only thing you can do is to look inside yourself and figure out what you feel to be true and hold onto that. That will give you some comfort.

Because Jehovah created us with the desire to live forever.(Ecclesiastes 3:11) 11Â Everything he has made pretty in its time. Even time indefinite he has put in their heart, that mankind may never find out the work that the [true] God has made from the start to the finish. Death is the enemy. The curse of Adam.

I'm not saying or assuming anything, don't get me wrong - this is my opinion:
The main reason why people fear death is because they believe they are not ready for it. How do I mean that? If you died today and saw God and he asked you how you lived your life, how well do you think your "interview" would go? That's why if you believe in your religion (my case Christianity), you should live today as if it were your last day. That's right, live your religion to the fullest, that will get you ready - because you know that when death comes, there's somebody waiting for you up there and ready to welcome you with a smile.

Death is no problem. No-one's escaped it yet, so why try your chances? Remember how it was being you before you were born? That wasn't so bad. Best advice: put off dying as long as possible. Don't smoke, look both ways when you cross the road, and don't upset OJ Simpson. Have a long and happy life.

It's just fear of the unknown. That and I know when I was forced to go to church by my parents I was so scared about burning in hell...what a useful tactic for getting your child to behave! As I've gotten older though I've realized that it's just a part of life and there's no point in fearing it because you can't change it.

Death scares everyone, even those who embrace it as a mere part of life. No religion can make you not scared of it. Unless you join one of those weird cults that goes out into the desert and drinks poisoned koolaid, but thats besides the point.

Death is meant to scare people and rightly so. Trust in Jesus. Repent of your sins and become baptized if you have not been. The Catholic Church also will feed you in your new spiritual person with the body of Christ so that upon death (which Catholics do not experience, they are simply changed) you will, in the twinkling of an eye, be with Jesus.

It is perfectly natural to want to continue living. If you are sick, well, God Bless You, I will pray for you. You need to come to grips with your situation, so you can enjoy what time you do have here. Be at peace, do the best you can to be careful and smart, hopefully you will live to a ripe old age. We all die someday.

The fear of death, I think comes because men who reject God, and profess not to believe in God really are not sure that He does not exist, and they know that if they are wrong, they will pay the penalty of disbelief and rejection of Christ's gift of salvation. A Christian that strives to be ready at all times for Jesus to either return in Glory, or take us out of this world is confident of where we will eventually go. Faith in Jesus Christ allows us to know that God has an appointed time for us to die, and we need not concern ourselves with this. We feel as sure about death as we do about life in Christ. It is appointed to every man to die, so you may as well make peace with it. The best way to do this is to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and make Him first in your life. Confess Him to other men in this life, and He will confess you to the Father in heaven when the judgement comes. Love in Christ, and peace be with you. DL
