Well, most people celebrate Indian festivals simply because they themselves are very well--Indians. You see, it gives them a spirit of integrity, much like us as Americans feel a spirit of patriotism whenever we stand up for and celebrate who we are. That's all you need to know. By the way sweety, the word is celebrate not celabrate. Glad to be of assistance!!

Festivals were invented when there were less things of leisure to mankind. Also, those were connected to god and religion so that all could accept them. This is the real reason behind festivals. Now, as we havebecome modern and have so many things for entertainment, the nature of these festivals is changed though the essence is same. And, my dear Komal, kya tum festivalsse khush nahi ho ?

We like a party. Any excuse will do. Besides, why not. How many people celebrate March 17 (St. Patricks Day) that are not Irish?
