Remember people, she's talking about cross country skis and not alpine skis.

Modern XC gear is following the trend of alpine gear and it's all getting shorter. You should be able to get some advice at your local nordic center (and if not local call the Nordic Center you ski at). Depending on your ability level they should work out just fine but if you're just beginning then I think they are going to be too long. I'm assuming these are striding skis and not skate skis? For skating they are definitely too long

You should be looking at 145-160 cm tops. The new shaped skis are designed to be a lot shorter. They should come up to tip of her nose. Back with straight skis, I used to ski 185s and I'm 5' 10". I now ski 175s, a buddy of mine says I should drop to 165s. 190s would be way / way too long.

I'm 5'6 and my skis are 155 cm. Talk to people who are at the the store where you are going to buy them and they should be able to help you figure out what the right length is. I think those are way too long.
