Or do I need to bring everything in a plastic bag? I usually only bring my I.D., tickets, a book, ciggarettes, cash and a camera on the plane. Will I be okay carrying this stuff in my regular purse?

In the US you can take one carry-on bag and a personal item (your purse). In the UK and Europe you can take only one carry-on item... your purse must be inside of that. Keep in mind the security rules for liquids.... Only liquid things (ie. lip gloss, lotion, etc. need to be in a 1 quart sized ziploc bag- no larger than that) but yes, you can bring your purse with you. I recently flew and I had my purse but I just put all my liquid things in the ziploc because they make you separate them anyway at the security checkpoint, so I had it done ahead of time. Everything you mentioned though, seems perfectly fine to bring without a ziploc. Have fun on your trip!

You can carry your purse on the aircraft with you, but be careful if you have makeup inside. Then you would want to check on the TSA website http://www.tsa.gov/ they have a complete list of what is allowed on the aircraft, as well as what needs to be packed in the 1qt clear plastic bag.

you were always able to bring your purse. the only thing in a plastic bag is gels/ liquids less than 3.4 oz. Go to www.tsa.gov they will tell you what you can bring and what you cannot bring. Alot of good info on that site :) Have fun and good luck

in the journey that your handbag is sufficiently small to circulate on your shop on, then definite you may, yet whilst its as enormous as your shop on, then you definately have poblems do undergo in suggestions no sharp gadgets are allowed
