It sounds like he may have an infection (Urinary Tract Infection). This would give it a really bad smell. Do he strain when he goes or maybe even cry when he does? Besides the foul smell, is the pee a darker color or different color then normal?
He really needs to go to the vet sooner then next week to get this problem looked at ASAP. This could lead to very serious complications if not looked at right away. Read up on a few things I sent along. Good luck with your dog and hope he can get help right away.

Probably nothing is wrong. It's a big dog and they drink a lot. Does he access to a stream, lake or pond. If so, don't let him run loose, which will eliminate his hugh consumption of water. Continue your plans to take him to the Vet...one never knows there maybe an underlying medical problem.

You should get to the vet asap! He could have a urinary tract infection, diabetes, kidney issues. The sooner the better! If he is drinking a lot its more likely to be diabetes or kidney issues.

He probably has a UTI(urinary tract infection) you should try to get him to the vet asap because he could develop kidney problems from this. Possibly kidney failure.

He could have a urinary track or bladder infection. Take him to the vet.
Next week is fine but give him plenty of water.
Watch for blood in his urine.

You should try to make an emergency appointment.
He might have a bad cold, but then there would be many other symptons, he might have urinary cancer or infection.
Oh good luck, I hope your buddy will be all right!

He most likely he has a UTI (urinary tract infection) Tell your mom she needs to take him to the doctor tomorrow....UTI's are extremely painful, and at some point he may begin to bleed internally and you might see it in his urine.
