I've started biking about 6 miles at least four times a week. I don't eat really healthy. My parents usually order out, like Chinese or pizza, but I want to change that, so does anyone know any diets or sites with low fat recipes? Thanks.

Try checking out your local library for some fitness info. The web can be something of a challenge. You might find a fitness magazine you like & see if they have a web-site.

You can safely use about 1-2 pounds a week, but really need to fix the diet issue. You don't talk about what you drink - so, NO soda, NO sugary drinks. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

Ditch the Chinese (sauces can be really bad) and use the Pizza as an occassional treat (1-2 pieces only). Do eat as many veggies & fruits as you can. Whole grain breads. Lean meats, like chicken (no skin, not deep fried).

Read labels! Know what's in your food!

Good Luck!

I went from 225 down to 175 in a few months. I believe that one can lose 5 pounds a week easily with limited fatty foods and with exercise. I believe your goal is possible, although I'm not an expert, if you discipline yourself!

It shud be done over a period of around 40 weeks.

Please eat sensibly nourishing food. Chew it slowly at least 32 times each morsel. Take light bending/stretching exercises and at least one hour of brisk walk every day. U will get the body shape and weight what u want but only to the extent u can get in a reasonable time period.

www.weightwatchers.com- my friend lost 15 pounds in a month.
Instead of snacks eat, 100 calorie pack, only 100 calories per pack, and fruits and vegtables.
Instead of drinks, like soda and lemonade, and iced tea, and fruit punch, drink crystal light, only 5 calories per glass.
Try going on the tredmill for 30 minutes everyday, eat healthy, if you go out for pizza, or sushi, eat only half of what you ordered (My family orders in and go out a lot also, so I know)
Good luck!

I think the "healthy average" weight loss is 2 pounds per week. So probably about 5 months if you really stick to it. Of course...those last few pounds are so difficult! I wish you the best of luck!!!

it is safe to lose about 2 pounds a week on avg, which would take about 5 months doing very little but if you want to try and lose more sooner drinking a lot more water and eating more fruits let steam fry be your new best friend

It depends on how much you need to lose. A rough guess would be 10 lbs a month so only 4 months... Get on the low carb diet... It worked for me!

"Body for Life" worked wonders for me... If you follow it, and do the workouts, you should drop weight pretty quick... I was about 298, and I dropped 30 pounds in less than a month. I hit 40 in 2 months.

tYou know what works for me when my family gets junk food for dinner, first, I watch them all pig out on the stuff, and it grosses me out so much, I don't touch the stuff,,,,,,,, ewe and then they all complain about feeling fat!!!!!!!!
You should just eat smaller portions, with fewer calories, if you reduce your fat, then you will just end up super hungry all the time, moderation, healthy food, hard to believe but true, just eat what you normally eat but healthy.
o get started, try eating salads, with your favorite dressing, with lots of goodys in it,,,,,,,,and some protein like chicken, that way you will be full.
cut out 1 bad habit a week,,,,,,
for me I
!/ gave up ranch
2/ switched to spray butter instead of the real stuff
3/ gave up sugar and deserts
all you have to do is lower your sugar, and trans fat, and eat natural foods, and your body will respond, eating sugar is just an addiction, soon you will not even have a sweet tooth,
If they get Chinese, you should get a vegy dish, like chicken and pea pods, I love my Chinese with broccoli and lots and lots of hot spice!!!!!!!
I think is would take about 6 months, on average to lose that much,,,but if you starve yourself it could take 3 to 4 months, its best if you eat lots of vegetables, and be satisfied, so you don't think about food, if all you think about is food, your bound to pig out on your parents trashy food, You could try the FIT channel on dtv they have lots of recipes, and lowfat cooking shows

first let me start out by saying I think it's great that you're changing your diet and health plans, but you need to know it's a lot of work, but by the sound of it you sound like you're getting there, you get to your goal if you keep that health program going, just don't forget, if you stop once it'll take you longer to get to your goal, best of luck!!
