People have been killing each other since they came down out of the trees honey. War is the nature of man. There is no reason to believe there would be less killing without religion. This is just an excuse for killing. There is no reason to believe they wouldn't find a different excuse. All religions I know of preaches love so you can't blame war on religion. It's more likely something other than religion. God bless kisses Betty.

Some use religion to advance their own cause/gain power. Do you honestly think they would be any less power hungry without religion? They would probably be worse.

I think we have enough evidence from socialist/anti religious regimes of the 20th century to prove it. Look no farther than Stalin.

In time, millions. This is another century when religious wars will devestate the world. It is all completely stupid, of course, but such is the power of fear in the human mind.

You think that's the only reason wars have been waged? How many lives have been lost because of heathens lust for money and power? Ever ask yourself this same question or is it always just too easy to blame everything on religion?

Well put. If I may paraphrase Sam Harris, in this day and age of weapons of mass destruction, we can no longer afford to pit one "true" god against another, and can no longer afford to offer polite lip service to even moderate religious views.

Millions. We should just acknowledge that we each are right but see no one ever wants to talk or never talk about it again. *Sigh*
