Alright so there's this guy that I've known for almost two years. I think he's really hot but I don't know how he feels about me. We went to prom together but he left me at the dance for his ex-boyfriend. We didn't talk that whole summer but when my senior year started, he apologized to me and we agreed to put everything behind us. Well, a couple months later, he started talking to me again, but this time it was more friendly, and he gave me his number and said if I ever wanted to hang out to call him. I never did, because I was too shy (stupid I know). Well, I left for college this year, and I hadn't seen him since August. My friend had seen him a couple weeks before I came home for Thanksgiving break and she had told him that I was coming back and if he was excited. He told her, "Actually I am, because all of the guys around here are assholes." So, now I'm thinking that he likes me, and I really like him, too. So, does he really like me? Or am I just reading too far into this?

This is one of those "Be careful" situations. He may really like you, and that's great...but you may also be reading too much into the situation. I know; that the answer could be a little of both is probably not what you wanted to hear.
Your best bet is just to play it out and see how it goes. There are lots of ways to find out how he really feels. You could ask him on a date. Or, if that's too much pressure, go out with his friends or your friends and see what the chemistry is like. If the situation presents itself, grab a pair and tell him that you're interested.
Most importantly, do not get your friends to ask him. It will only make him apprehensive and think that you're desperate or creepy.
Basically, be cool and see how it goes. Don't pressure the situation too much. It will only make you crazy and him distant. Have fun with it. Good luck!
