A friend of mine told me she thought I looked like I'd be with a jock type guy. I then told her I thought her type would be a gq looking guy. She's seemed to act oddly when I said this. Who agrees that this was a compliment to her? I don't know why she'd be offended.

I think your statement was as much a compliment to her as hers was to you. Perhaps she doesn't see herself as you see her, and that is why she acted oddly. Not knowing your friend, it is hard to know how she might view herself, but it must not be as a girl who would be attracted to a GQ guy. Does she see herself as artistic? Athletic? I guess you will have to ask her why she seemed to be offended. Good friends should be able to talk about such things.

I think that's why she said you belong with a jock, because you're very insensitive.
Anyone who uses the word queek in a sentence referring to me or who they think my friends should be and wants me to take it as a compliment, is only kidding themselves and being disingenuous.
