I am 36 and this has progressivly worse (over 8 years). The spot seems to move around in the center of my eyes. The left eye started first and is the worse and the right has to started. The spot seems to have a "tail" attached to the end. It becomes more pronounced when I am tired or stressed. It has become such a problem it can seem like knats in my field of vision. The shape of the spots also change. I cannot seem to find anything remotely like this anywhere on line or at least where I have looked. There is no pain associated with it that I have noticed. Help would be greatly appreciated! Also, it does not come and go. It is constant by varies in intensity.

if it is a dark black spot though, it may not be a floater.

I have a couple black spots in my vision from being hit in the eye, and small pieces of my retina becoming detached. It is not a big deal, and I don't always notice the spots...but when I do they are constant, yes.
floaters are usually transparent.

I would recommend asking an eye doctor for more info.

If it's associated with headaches that would be a sign of a migraine.
You also may have a astigmatism, which would cause the "spots". Go see an eye doctor when you can to confirm this to make sure it's nothing more serious.

That sounds like you have what is called Floaters. It's not spots missing, but you are actually seeing something floating inside your eye. You should see your eye doctor. If it has been happening gradually over years, he will just want to keep watch over it on a yearly basis. If you notice a drastic change in this, get to a doctor immediately, it means your retina is tearing or torn.

Do you have diabetes? Then it sounds like you have blood in your eye....diabetic retinopathy. You need to see an eye specialist, to have your eyes checked and have it lasered, to stop the bleeding. In any case, you still need your eyes checked.
